What to Expect
A comprehensive review of your medical history through thoughtful discussion is essential. In order to provide effective assistance, we require substantial information about your health.
A physical examination will be conducted, encompassing observations of your movement, assessments of range of motion, and relevant orthopedic evaluations, and neurological testing. Please be aware that partial disrobing might be necessary during this process.
Our treatment approach is personalized, with initial consultations lasting from 45 to 60 minutes. Anticipate receiving informative sessions explaining the origins of your symptoms and the intricacies of pain.
Hands-on therapies such as massage, joint mobilization, stretching, and potential joint manipulation may be incorporated into the treatment plan, and we will offer guidance on lifestyle adjustments, exercise regimens, and rehabilitation if needed.
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a university-qualified allied health profession that focuses on the health of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, and takes time to listen to, and treat patients as a whole. They use a holistic approach to find and treat the cause of your pain, not just the symptoms. Your appointment at MSC Osteopathy will involve a consultation, examination, manual therapy, exercise prescription, as well as education on your diagnosis and prognosis moving forward. Your consultation may involve postural, movement and ergonomic assessment, and hands-on treatment may involve manual therapy, dry needling, cupping or sports taping. As a holistic treatment, your consultation may involve support and educational advice about stress management, exercise programs, lifestyle and dietary advice that may influence your injury, pain or movement.
